The "Back Story" to Christmas Holiday Magic

"What Is Christmas Holiday Magic?"

Every year our civilized world celebrates Christmas and the "Holiday Season" as we call it in multiple ways -  religiously and secularly - with ceremonies, festivals, social gatherings/parties, etc....AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: MUSIC.  Of course...music. The "always there" component to every Christmas Holiday event... always has been. From simple hymns to choirs to popular songs to symphonic masterpieces, Christmas Holiday music is our best memory of the season, no question.

Here's how:

Scientific and some not so scientific studies over the many years which have focused on how the human and actually ALL living organisms' brains react and respond to music, have concluded uniformly that music "imprints" itself as a memory into our psyches...much as our sense of smell can remind us of something very specific every time that one aroma wafts around us again.  But music is more powerful.

Christmas Holiday music in particular, affects us the most of all music types because we associate that music with a myriad of powerful sensations: happiness, sadness, joy, sorrow, pleasure, emotional pain, emotional happiness, love, gratitude, thankfulness...an endless number of emotions rise up that only come into play in such abundance during the Christmas Holiday Season. The popularity of Christmas Holiday music is a legacy of sorts. The gift that keeps on giving year after year.  But as time marches on, it's important to add to legacies in order to keep them alive and vibrant...and to preserve that "gift that keeps giving" to our new generations and creates new memories for them for years to come.

That's really what Christmas Holiday Magic is all about: making new musical memories for all of us here now and for future generations so this special time of year stays special...and makes us look forward to it.

New hopes. New feelings. New generations.    New Christmas Holiday music. It "re-news" our sense of well-being, our faith and our belief that 'everything is going to be ok'.  Whether one is a "believer" or not, The Spirit of The Christmas Holiday Season moves all of us in a way we may not fully understand, but can feel. And that's what makes us human.
